Type coordinates such as 37.738, -119.575 or a place name, then press Enter. Press the question mark key anywhere for keyboard shortcuts.
Picks the spacing from the terrain and zoom. While on, it locks the slider and number field. Distance between contour lines, in metres. "Auto" adjusts it as you zoom.
Every Nth contour line draws heavier, as a reading aid — e.g. 5 bolds every 5th line.
Smooths small bumps in the elevation data so lines flow. Blurs small elevation noise, in metres, so lines flow more naturally. Higher means smoother but less detail.

Arrow keys move the map, plus and minus zoom. The buttons next to the map do the same. The map shows contour lines only; its place, zoom and colors are described in the map status.
